Bundaberg Regional Council recently commissioned AEC consultants to complete a Hotel Investment Prospectus report for Bundaberg. Findings from the report suggest strong market demand for a new 4 star hotel in Bundaberg. Over the next decade, Bundaberg is actively seeking to attract up to 500 plus new-build branded and operated hotel rooms. The combination of a rapidly growing local population, 2nd fastest economic growth rate in Queensland and $5 billion of investment in region-shaping projects suggests now is the perfect time to invest in a hotel development in Bundaberg.
There is a clear identified gap in Bundaberg’s hotel offering
Bundaberg has 52 accommodation establishments providing 1,075 rooms.
Most of these are motel inns with an average rating of 3.5 star or less.
The general growth in Bundaberg’s tourism market will drive demand for additional hotel rooms. Specific identified opportunities include:
- 4+ star offering
- CBD accommodation for business travel
- Service apartments for longer stays
